can you use a normal light to hatch triops?

I just got triop eggs and was going to hatch then my brother says you need a office lamp that points down is this true. Im going to use a heater for heat so I only need the light to hatch them and the light I have is very bright.

triops 1 36

These Triops were raised from the offspring of a Triops that I bought on the internet. I was very happy to see them grow, and felt sad when I found them dead on New Year 2010. Here’s a little compilation of the videos that I took. Many thanks to BluesTriops, who always answered my questions and helped infinitely with the raising process!

Advice on growing triops?

i have a tank with little triops in, there is about 200 as far as i can tell. there is about 10 LTRS of water and i have been feeding them as often as recommended, the water is green with a layer of scum on the top. I know i need to change the water, but there is no way of me changing the water without getting rid of a load of triops in the process. They are way to small and i would end up throwing a load away. Shall i just leave it? and wait til they are bigger. Also they are about three weeks old and they are still abslutely tiny, they don’t seem to be growing, is this normal? also is it normal for there to be hundreds hatching out? I got them in the pack called “triops world” by interplay and i have only used half the pack of eggs.

Help! My triops is not hatching after 40 hours!?

Okay i am going to be as detailed as possible.
31st December 2011 5.30pm-I bought some triops eggs. I spread the eggs with sediments and some leafs that came with the pack into the plastic container “tank”
I checked on them every 30min-1hr
1st January 2012 10.30am- I went to check on the eggs. Still nothing. I cant even see the eggs.
1st January 2012 5.30pm- I still see no triops hatching but i can see the triops eggs floating on the water surface. I tried pushing them down gently but to no avail (my pack told me to do that)
2nd January 9am- 40 hours after i threw them in the water. Still nothing.
