I have a 5 gal. fish tank I keep triops in. I recently changed from rocks to sand since they like to dig. I used some construction grade sand that I sifted and cleaned before using. Seems to be fine and the triops like it. Anyway, this morning I was looking in the tank and saw a little red worm come about half way out of the sand and snag something (food?), then it went back into the sand. I stirred the sand up where I saw it to see if I could see it again, but no luck.
Anyone know what it is?
triops look strange but are £6 and sea monkeys look fine and live longer but cost £10 i just cant dicide
I know it says EVERYWHERE I look to not use tap water with my triops. But, what about dechlorinated tap water? It’s perfectly fine for fish, and i’ve read of a few people who have done this with no problem! I keep my fish tank running constantly, and i want to put triops in it. But i’ve also read that an established body of water won’t yield triops easily. Does my fish tank (currently fish-less) fall into this category?

It is colord gravel and i found out that it could be toxic after i put it in the aquarium but after three days all 3 of them seem to be fine. Also 2 of the triops were raised in a seperate container than the other one and the one raised by itself is at least twice the size of the other 2. Do you think my triops will still lay eggs? I am planning on hatching them. Thanks alot
