Triops mutant or deformed?

I bought my son a Triops kit recently and they hatched. We had quite a few, but due to the fact to were a day older they ate the smaller ones. One of them is a normal looking Triops, the other…..
I don’t know. First off it has only one eye, not three, and its body shape is different. His shell extends over the full body and he has no tail. You can see his many legs through the shell. I have looked around the net, but I haven’t found a picture of one like it anywhere. Has anyone seen this before?

I have a question about Triops.?

My son got a triop kit and the directions dont explain whether the debris with the eggs should be seperated. On the other hand I dont see how it is possible to seperate because I wouldn’t know what the egg looks like. The eggs hatched but the debris is floating around the little clear tank.

Help With Triops(little sea creatures)?

Um, so i bought these triops for my son. The instruction manual says they need spring water to survive. We dont have any bottled water right now and my son is very excited to get these eggs in. Could I boil water and then use that? Or will that kill the Triops? Help would be nice.

Do triops ever hatch ?

You know those pre-dinosaur triops that you can hatch and grow? My son’s never hatched & he’s devastated! We live with the people we rent from and they’re CONSTANTLY walking in and turning the light off, so I’m thinking that’s part of the problem (they feel it’s a fire-hazard but we only have one window in the main-room – which is behind a table covered in bells and wind-chimes hanging from the ceiling). I think that’s the only way to get the water to stay the temperature I’m looking for (slightly above room temperature) What on earth does a person have to do to make those things hatch? And why does it have to be spring water as well? Doesn’t that defeat the purpose of low-cost/low-maintenence? Do they sell the food seperately?
