A question about triops?

I have some triops newly hatched but I’m going on holiday for a week in two weeks. Should I put a few spoonguls of food in or what?

  1. No. If the food isn’t eaten, then the food will rot, spoiling the water. Your best bet is to get a friend to come in at least once. They may be able to survive for a few days, but not seven.

If this is not possible, then get some brine/fairy shrimp, Daphnia (water fleas), or some other small organism that the triops will be able to eat, or aquatic plants. This way, they’ll have food that will last for a few days, that won’t rot.
