Triops are a species of fairy shrimp. When they first hatch, the guppies would probably eat them.

If you hatch them and put them in the tank with the guppies, they should be OK, but probably won’t live very long.

They are adapted to the environment of vernal pools, not lakes or rivers.

  2. Triops don’t really share very well. They are very tiny when young and so vulnerable to becoming food. They also don’t live for very long, and to continue the generations you would need to dry out the sand in order for the eggs to hatch. This would cause a lot of disruption in your tank. Triops really can be tricky to rear, and it is definitely best for them if they have their own space, as it enables you to control the environment for them much more easily.
