I decided to buy a Triop kit and grow some Triops. My kit came with one of the round plain tanks that is around a litre big. I have been sucessful as I have nine triops all around a centimetre long and all 9 days old. I read on a website that you need 2 litres of water PER adult triop, and i have nine, does this mean I need to transfer them into 18 litres of water?!?!
Put it this way:
For every inch of fish (or triop
in your tank, you need one gallon of water.
I have Triops.

Commercial tanks are too small, even for only one triops (believe me. My triops was frantically swimming about). You just need something that’s longer/wider than it is deep. Just find a Rubbermaid container, again, they don’t need anything deep. I think mine’s about 22.9x 16.8x 5.9″ (58.2x 42.7x 15.0 cm), which is 26.5 L (7 gallons). It should be enough for 9 triops, and it’s cheap for a tank. Just be sure that it’s relatively clear.
