Hatching Triops Eggs – A Reliable Method.wmv

Hatching Triops Eggs step by step. This is the most reliable method I’ve used so far for hatching triops. Basically you hatch the triops eggs in a small hatchery container first, then after a week or so move them over to the final tank. That way you can control the temperature easier if you are using a lamp, and also the baby triops can find their food faster and grow quicker. ***Hatching Temperatures + Feeding Guide*** www.triopsguys.com *****************************************

  3. probably not, you need a lamp or something. you should check and see if the top of your fridge is warm cause that might work.

  4. yeah they are much less sensitive after about a week or so. in GENERAL 72 – 86F is good, you might want to do some research on your particular species first though. i keep my water at 80-86.

  6. I prefer a heater mat, it`s seems easier to handle and if you just use 1/3 of the sand you split the risk of loosing all . And the later born are not eaten by the early ones.

  8. good point. cancriformis is a good choice if you can’t do any artificial heating.

  16. @soccercat1 working on it! actually i have to wait till i finish a generation of triops to make the video properly….but basically here is what i do….

    1. scoop out as much water as you can from the tank.
    2. take out any ornaments or plants, etc.
    3. let the sand dry out completely, like bone dry.

after that you can store the sand and try hatching from it. google “triops detritus” for how to make the baby triops food.

  17. @soccercat1 yeah you can but expect to wash it for like 15-20 minutes to get most of the clay out.

  20. @soccercat1 hey did you end up trying this? as long as your room doesn’t get too cold at night….

  21. @soccercat1 i don’t cause its usually kind of dirty at that point. after you get the second tank setup just transfer ONE triops….see if it lives for a day first…then it’s probably safe to transfer the other ones.

i bougth the star wars kit and the eggs are from longicadatus and all the stuff that came in is just floting around so is the same steps for any kind of triops? please respond

  23. @HowToDoTutorials100 yeah same steps, you’ll probably need a bigger container though then what your kit came with for later…unless you like changing water all the time.

  24. ANOTHER QUESTION!!!!
do i have to put the old gravel/pond stuff that came in the kit for “conditioner” that i used to hatch the triops into the new big tank when im transfering them??????????

    Report Spam/Abuse

  25. @soccercat1 I usually don’t cause its kind of dirty by then. remember only transfer one triops first to the big tank and see if it lives for 24 hours before transferring the rest to make sure your water is ok.
