i bought a Triops set it’s called Triop world… the one with the volcano. i put in some stones that came with it and some sand to lay eggs in. filled the bowl thing with water and poured in the eggs and the detrius stuff. The problem is… I CAN’T USE A LIGHT TO KEEP THEM WARM AND IN THE LIGHT! OMG! will this affect them or will they just not hatch and what do i do!
I bought that same set, but under a different name. Only one of my triops hatched, and I used the commercial bowl. Even for one triops, it was too small. First go out and get a bigger (but shallow) container. Right now, i”m using a cheap rubber maid container, but you can use a big salad bowl. Just something clear, shallow, and wide.
The triops will not hatch without heat. If you can’t leave a light on, then you can get a heater. You can also stick the tank on top of the radiator, if you have it going. For the first three days, you need to heat it all day. But after that, you only have to heat the water for roughly 12 hours (from the time you wake up to the time you go to bed), to mimic the rise and fall of the sun.
