It's after they die that you prepare the eggs to hatch a new generation. By collecting at hatching eggs, you can keep them going indefinitely with good care. The triops don’t have that long of a lifespan (40-60 days), so they will die fairly soon anyway. It’s after they die that you prepare the eggs to hatch a new generation.
