My baby triops hatched a few days ago…along with a few sea monkeys, and I am in love with them already! I’m hoping they make it to be adults! This is the first time I have tried to hatch some and was so happy when they hatched…now I just have to keep them alive! lol, yea, wen i hatched mines i tougth they were sea monkeys, but soem time next to a serious search i found out that they are not the same , btw, you migth see your “sea monkeys” disapear, as triops will eat it, after all my brine shrimo had desapeard from the triops tank, i noticed a big ass triop

Wrong, rluix. First of all sea monkeys are a species of artemia (brine shrimp) which, as you said come from labs and are called artemia nyos by the company (which isn’t really accepted by many scientists) and as the popular name “brine shrimp” indicates they live in brine (very salty water).
Triops on the other hand are fresh water. So what would be in the tank with the triops is called fairy shrimp. They are the fresh water cousins of brine shrimp. And they do tend to grow bigger.

Ok,do you have the sea monkeys handbook? it states clearly:
“…they are a variety of artemia.(…) Instead of originating in the ocean, Artemia are found in salt lakes and salt evaporation flats. The waters of these areas are often so salty that artemia may be the only non-microscopic animal inhabiting them.”
Besides, do your research. I just thought that the official handbook would be better than some website, but this information is easy to find

oh, rigth, i was going to correct my error of the brine shrimp, but i forgot, and then this started. its in the triops site too that wat hatchs with triops are fairy shirmp, wich the eggs are collected by acident.
And yes, i got it, theyr saltwater, but then, why when sea monkeys water evaporates wee can fill it againe with normal water! non-salty water! why dont they die becouse of the fresh water? i mean, if they are salt water, wont would they die in freshwater?

Oh, yeah, you can add normal fresh water to the sea monkey tank when the water evaporates because the salt does not evaporate with it. Once you add the salts to the water you never change it, just top it up when it evaporates. Vapour is actually like demineralised water not containing any minerals and salts so the dissolved solids stay in the water.
So they do get more concentrated, but once you add fresh water it goes to the original state

Well I think I read in the instructions that you need to put the whole lot in, and I read that it only needs to be in for about 3 days…but after mine died I thought it wasn’t the best idea, cos now I have none left to hatch any more
