  2. Hi Jen,

I’ve been keeping Triops for years and you’ll be pleased to know that they’re really not difficult to care for.

You can buy special Triop food if you like (an example is at http://www.interplaydirect.co.uk/triop-food-57-p.asp) but realistically I have kept my Triops fit and healthy using very finely ground fish flakes. Literally just a tiny amount when they hatch and rub the flake between your fingers to break it up into dust.

Try to feed them every day or two because Triops can be cannibalistic so if you’re unlucky you’ll just end up with one giant Triop!

One final tip for you if you’re keeping Triops for the first time. Bright light and warmth seem to help with hatching. I place a desk lamp near the container for the first few days until you can see the Triops have hatched. They’re very difficult to see indeed for the first week or so, so don’t get disappointed if it looks like they haven’t hatched – it’s likely they’re just not big enough for you to see yet :-)

    Best of luck!

    Richard
