Some questions about triops??

I set up the triops stuff and put the eggs in yesterday, but at night i had to close the lamp, it was 21 degrees when i woke up, will all the eggs die?

Today i saw i little thingy that was moving on the bottom of the cup is it suppost to swim at the bottom or middle?

do i need to feed it today?

is there any way to keep it warm during the night without the lamp?

i had to put hatching nutrients in the cup, when can i take it out?

how will i know if the triops ate all the food? since it blends in with the hatching nutrients?

  1. No, 21 degrees is perfect. That little thing moving on the bottom is a triops!
Congratulations, you’re doing fine, baby triops swim upwards, and then rest at the bottom of the cup.

You don’t need to feed it until the third day. The nutrition pack feeds them for the first three days of hatching. On the third day, take out the nutrition pack.
If you got a pack of food for triops, crush a pellet and put half of it in the water.
You probably won’t know when the triops has eaten it, but he will. The next day feed another half, and so on. When the triops get big, feed a whole pellet.

There probably is no need to heat the tank, as long as the temperature doesn’t get below 18 degrees.

Goodluck, and look at this website, it will help.

  2. I hope it is 21 degrees celcius, not farenheit.

Baby triops swim all over the place and you could put a dome of aluminium foil over the cup at night.
Why is the lamp off at night?
It should be kept on all night to help infusoria growth for the babies to eat.

Don’t put food in the triops tank!
You could kill it from bacteria spikes from the uneaten food!
Baby triops can’t eat the food.
Put a crushed pellet in the cup at day 3 after hatching.

The hatching nutrients should be taken aout when all of the triops that are alive are at least 1 week old.
