You should use the original water in the tank to transfer them into the new tank. You can have fake plants, but it adds absolutely no function to the tank as triops don’t care what accessories you put in the tank. You should wash them and dry them completely before you put them in. Triops also don’t live very long, definitely not more than a year, so it may just be a waste of money to spend on fake plants that may not even be used for half a year.
