only add water when they are actually grown. I dont recommend putting in water too early for the risk of screwing up is high. i had sea monkeys pretty much the same thing and i only put in water when they grow a reassuring size and the water level got kinda low. Too bad though, the sea monkey tanks are with lids not like the lousy triop habitats. I owned triops before, kinda risky if u ask me…if they die i recommend u go and get sea monkeys they are ways easier.

As long as the water isn’t high enough so they can jump out, and as long as you use bottled or purified water, you can add more. If the tank has a lid, then it doesn’t matter how high the water is.
Here, look at this website. It tells you everything you need to know about triops. http://mytriops.com/articles/triops_care.stm
And as for the sea monkeys, try adding some artemia to the triops container. The triops think they’re a tasty snack.
Brine shrimp eggs are for sale at your local fish store, or online for about three dollars. Hatch them in salt water and then scoop them up in a nylon net and put them in your baby triops tank. They’ll eat up right up.
Edit: If you can get access to pond water, put that in their tank. They’ll eat the tiny animals in the water.
